Upcoming workshop seminar: ‘’Promoting the forest bioeconomy in Northern Finland’’

16 february 2023

MTK is organizing a workshop seminar as a part of the BRANCHES project "Promoting the forest bioeconomy in Northern Finland" on 14.3.2023 in Rovaniemi, Finland. The aim of the workshop is to create concrete plans for exploiting the potential of the region and to avoid possible threats. The workshop will include presentations by experts and a panel discussion on the topic. Topical aspects of regional development, such as coordination of different land-uses, will be highlighted to exploit the opportunities.

The upcoming workshop seminar is a follow-up for a previous workshop, which MTK organized in April 2022. At that time, the aim was to focus on the current and future state of the forest bioeconomy in Northern Finland. This year the workshop will continue the SWOT analysis generated last year, where the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the area were identified. This year the workshop will go one step further and plan a strategy to promote the forest bioeconomy in Northern Finland.

The event is aimed at actors, researchers and companies working in the forest bioeconomy. The event is in Finnish and free of charge, and remote participation is possible also via live stream. The seminar workshop will be interactive, all participants can take part in the co-development activities - remotely as well.
